Useful Information
Club Constitution And Rules
A copy of these rules can be downloaded from here. Copies of these are displayed in the clubhouse.Tennis balls
It is the policy of the club to provide tennis balls for use at club sessions. Balls are available for sale to members for their own use, currently at the extremely favourable price of £4.00 per can of Wilson Australian Open, and can be obtained from Bob Wilson. There have been quite a few instances where
tennis balls
have been left on court after play has finished
which can leave them exposed to the elements thus shortening their useful life.
Please ensure that the balls are returned to the clubhouse. We are currently paying well over £1,000 per annum for balls, so it is
important to keep the costs down where possible.
Floodlights
The new floodlights are normally operated by use of tokens which can be purchased from Bob Wilson at a cost of £2 each. Each token lights a block of two courts for half an hour. On Thursday's Club Evening no charge will be made after 6.30pm.Racquet Stringing
Michael Rakosi can provide this service at very reasonable rate.Club Sessions
We have Club Sessions throughout the year when, providing weather conditions are reasonable there would usually be some members present. There is usually a committee member or long established member who will organise a four or a two so if you’re a new member all you have to do is turn up.
The Senior Club Sessions take place as follows:
| Sunday mornings | 10 am to 12.30 pm | |
| Tuesday afternoons | 2 pm to 4 pm | |
| Thursday evenings | 7 pm to 9pm | |
| Saturday afternoons | 2 pm to 4 pm |
The Ladies club session takes place as follows:
| Tuesday evenings only | 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm |
Juniors - For details please refer to the coaching page of the website
The younger juniors can attend for play when the coach is not present but there will need to be a parent or other adult in attendance. The club has a Child Protection Policy in line with LTA requirements. Bob Wilson is acting as our Child Protection Officer.
Refreshments
Tea and coffee making facilities will be provided free to adult members. These items are kept in the fridge and the cupboard above.Committee
Here is a list of Committee members, which you may find useful. The Committee members assist the Club,
on a purely voluntary basis, often spending a great deal of their own time for the benefit of all club
members. Please give them your support wherever possible. Finally on behalf of all the committee, thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy the coming season!!
